I am someone who feels a sense of belonging in the forest, freedom by the ocean, aliveness listening and dancing to music and at home anywhere my family, 2 dogs and 2 cats are. I am an interplay of opposites. I love meditation and boxing, the unknown and the logical, the tranquil and the untamed.
7 years ago I dared to honestly answer the question “Who are you?”, and chose to start a journey of self-discovery back home to me. A journey that continues to immeasurably enrich my life and those I work with and lead.

I am dedicated to helping you to rediscover who you are and live a life that is full of connection, purpose and fulfilment.
I remember the day over 7 years ago I was first asked “Who are you?”
My answer was something like “I am a daughter, sister, wife, mum of 3 beautiful girls, 2 boisterous dogs, 2 patient cats, and a corporate leader”. In response I received a kind smile, and what turned out to be one of the most powerful questions I have been asked.
“They are the roles you play, who is Janene?”
And I couldn’t answer the question.
I am someone who has functioned with social anxiety for most of their life. What that means is that I subconsciously spent a lot of my life doing what I could not to stand out, be seen or heard.
I was the child who became the teen and the adult who ticked the boxes of traditional societal expectations. I went to university, corporate career, marriage, children, mortgage.
I held myself to such high standards that I’d never expect anyone else to live up to. I never thought I was enough and there was a deep sense of not quite belonging anywhere.
I was either focused on doing and achieving, or I was completely exhausted. And if I am honest a lot of the time, I was doing both.
When my youngest daughter was 15 months old and I returned to work my body didn’t just whisper, it screamed at me to stop. I was under weight, facing new health challenges and an autoimmune diagnosis.
Deciding to tackle this head on I googled. Not surprisingly meditation popped up first.
I threw myself into a meditation app on my phone, and religiously for three months did the daily activity and ticked the box. But it made me feel worse because I kept thinking I was getting it wrong - so I stopped.
A friend then invited me to a workshop run by a teacher and creator of innate meditation Alison Potts. From that day not only did it shift my experience of meditation but my experience of life.
It was a path of finding safety and a feeling of home in my body, exploring how to deeply listen and respond to my body’s messages, uncovering and discovering what it means to experiencing life through my body and celebrating the rhythms of life in all its forms.

Today I can answer the question “Who am I?” .
I am a leader that leads from a place is true to me and that honours all of me.
I lead with my values for welcome and compassion on display.
I see, value, listen, love and care for myself in ways I couldn’t have ever imagined.
I celebrate and cherish the ways I experience all of life.
I listen when my body says “danger Will Robinson” and I greet it with honour, gratitude and compassion.
I walk towards the things that light me up with a whole body “YES!”.
I love that I am me in more and more spaces.
